Is your bedroom feeling more like the best room at your favorite hotel after completing the first 5 days of the 7 Day Bedroom Challenge?
Today we are going to focus on refining the details in your bedroom to make it just right. Before we get to that let’s do two more things.
We have covered the bed, the bedside table, the nook, the dresser, and the master bath so far. Some of you may have other spaces in your bedroom like side tables or a jewelry chest. Don’t neglect those spots. Spend some time organizing and cleaning them today so every corner of your room has received the same thought and attention.
One More Cleaning
Give your bedroom one more cleaning where needed. Put away the clutter, fluff the pillows, empty the hamper, dust the surfaces, and vacuum the floors. Make it shine!
The Delight is In the Details
After all the practical, hard work of organizing and cleaning a room comes my favorite part of the design process – the details. It is the details that make all the difference in a room and turn a house into a home. What you display should be a reflection of you, your family, and your interests and passions. They should be items that are personal to you, not blindly acquired to obtain a certain look. Everything you walk past in your home should put a smile on your face. Surround yourself with things that bring you joy. Personalizing your space and adding details is what adds character and warmth to a room and, ultimately, to your home.
Since design details are so personal, I can’t guide you on what to do here. I will, however, share some pictures of the details in my bedroom in an effort to inspire you. You can find them at the end of this post. You may not share my style, but you can certainly tell a lot about who I am and what I like by looking at the details in my room. The details tell a story. Tell your story with your details.
Have fun with this step and we will see you back here tomorrow for the last day of the 7 Day Bedroom Challenge.
